Tired of having a dull, lackluster or stained smile? Ask our dentist about our professional teeth whitening treatments! Our professional teeth whitening services are simple, effective and can noticeably enhance the appearance of your teeth in a single visit to Smile 312.
Over time, your smile may become dull or stained due to a variety of factors, including:
- The natural aging process
- Poor dental hygiene
- Foods and drink that stain (such as tea, wine, coffee and soda)
- Use of tobacco products, including smoking
- Illness and the use of certain medications
- Fluorosis (excessive consumption of fluoride)
While over-the-counter and do-it-yourself teeth whitening treatments can produce some lightening of your teeth, nothing will ever brighten your smile more effectively than a professional whitening treatment. Teeth whitening treatments provided by our dentist and team use professional-grade bleaching material customized to your smile. There are two main types of teeth whitening available – in-office whitening and take-home whitening.
In-office teeth whitening is one of the fastest and most effective cosmetic treatments available. If you receive this type of whitening treatment, Dr. Harvey J. Mahler will apply a whitening gel to the surfaces of your teeth. This gel will be activated with a special light to break up stains and discolorations on the tooth enamel until your teeth are the desired shade of white. This process can usually be completed in under an hour so that you can leave Smile 312 with a whiter and more beautiful smile.
Take-home teeth whitening produces the same effects as in-office bleaching, but over a period of several weeks. If you receive this whitening treatment our dentist will provide you with custom whitening trays and tubes of whitening gel. You can simply place the whitening gel into the trays and wear them as directed at whatever time best fits your schedule. Over the course of several weeks you will see improvement in the appearance of your teeth.
Please remember that the effects of your teeth whitening treatment are not permanent. You will need to periodically touch up your teeth with professional whitening in order to maintain their appearance. You can prolong the results of your whitening treatment by practicing good oral hygiene, keeping your regular dental appointments, using a whitening toothpaste or mouthwash, and avoiding foods and drinks that stain.
