Sincere Wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone sincere wishes for a happy and healthy new year.

2020 has truly been a roller coaster ride (don’t like them, LOL), with some incredible highs and challenging lows with everything in between.  Like many of our patients, we now have a “new normal” which has been created by COVID-19.  Our office has adapted and followed changing CDC and Illinois state guidelines as they are presented.  We have ALWAYS focused on what are “best practices” for our patients, and Raquel, Jo and I will continue to do so.

When mandated to restrict our offices for almost 3 months, we were able to make improvements both to our physical office and our digital one.  We upgraded our servers and software/apps to state-of-the-art encryption and security to protect patient information as well as allowing for “touchless” appointment confirmations and check-in. We were also able to improve and upgrade our treatment rooms to provide an efficient and aseptic environment to work in.  In addition, all of our continuing education has gone online, and our annual meeting, where I have spoken twice before, will be 100% virtual this year.

Finally, I am pleased to let you know we have recently renewed our lease at 30 North Michigan for several more years and I am scheduled for the first dose of the Moderna vaccine early next week.  Getting the vaccine will help protect me, my staff, my family and my patients.  As the vaccine rollout continues, I expect my staff to be vaccinated soon and most of our patients in the coming year.

On a personal note, it has been extremely gratifying to continue to treat our amazing “family of patients”, meeting both our new young and older patients.  2021 will be our 35th anniversary and hopefully, at some point, we look forward to celebrating in person. Our practice remains extremely diverse with patients from all backgrounds and businesses who live all over the country.  It has been amazing to see several of our patients being interviewed on television this year on both medical, legal and community topics.

Like many, I really miss travel (hiking/sightseeing/photography) and have substituted reading a lot and learning guitar (electric & acoustic) but please do not expect “Here Comes the Sun” anytime soon.

As always, feel free to call, email or text our office anytime with any questions, concerns or thoughts.
