Fluoride treatment is a quick and painless preventive solution that is designed to protect tooth enamel while also reducing the risk of tooth decay. Applied during a regular dental checkup, it is helpful to patients who are prone to cavities and who do not receive adequate fluoride exposure each day. Although commonly found in water, foods, and toothpaste, fluoride can be included in a six-month exam for an added layer of protection in between appointments.
Teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism) are often a sign of stress, a misaligned bite, or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Dr. Mahler can examine your mouth to determine if a customized nightguard will reduce worn-down tooth enamel and/or chronic jaw pain. If so, the device will be crafted using digital impressions so that it is comfortable to wear at night. As a barrier between teeth, you will discover that you feel well-rested in the mornings and experience reduced pain in your teeth and jaw joints.
